Language Policy
Every Entirius repository is written in English: one language to search in, and one that every contributor reads.
The Rule
Section titled “The Rule”Every repository in the entirius GitHub org is maintained entirely in English:
code, documentation, git, and API.
What It Covers
Section titled “What It Covers”- Code: identifiers (variables, functions, classes, modules, files), comments, docstrings.
- Documentation:
README,AGENTS.md,docs/,CHANGELOG. - Git: commit messages, branch names, PR and issue titles and descriptions.
- API: field names, OpenAPI descriptions and tags, technical error messages.
End-User Content (i18n)
Section titled “End-User Content (i18n)”English is the source language (default). End-user content is never hardcoded in another
language. Localization goes through the framework’s i18n (Django:
LANGUAGE_CODE = "en-us" + gettext, translation catalogs). Any other language is one of the
translations, never the source.
Exceptions
Section titled “Exceptions”Allowed locally, with a justification in the code or PR:
- proper names and domain terms with no sensible equivalent,
- legal texts / client content that must stay in the original (e.g. Polish GDPR consents),
- quoted fixtures / test data mirroring real input.
Enforcement
Section titled “Enforcement”- Review: the reviewer checks the language of a pull request; no linter does.
- A repository’s
AGENTS.mdstates the English-only rule under its conventions (AGENTS.md Convention). - A new repository is in English from its first commit.
